Why might a user be disqualified from a survey?

Understand why users may be disqualified from surveys and how to help them troubleshoot.

It's normal for users to be disqualified from some surveys. Survey providers determine which participants qualify based on each survey's requirements, and they may disqualify a user at any point during the process.

A disqualification doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with your Besitos integration or the user's account.

How survey qualification works

When a user selects a survey, they may first answer prescreening questions. These questions help the survey provider determine whether the user matches the audience they're looking for.

A user may initially appear to qualify but be disqualified later as they answer additional questions.

Survey providers may consider factors such as:

  • Demographic or profile information

  • Previous survey responses

  • Responses to prescreening questions

  • Survey quotas

  • Responses to quality or attention-check questions

  • The completeness and quality of open-ended responses

  • How quickly or slowly the survey is completed

The specific qualification criteria vary by survey and are controlled by the survey provider.

Why might a user be disqualified?

Common reasons include:

  • The survey quota is full. The survey has already received enough responses from users who match the target audience.

  • The user's responses don't match the survey audience. Their answers may indicate that they don't meet the survey provider's requirements.

  • Responses are inconsistent. Survey providers may compare answers within a survey or with responses from previous surveys.

  • The survey was completed too quickly or too slowly. The survey provider may use completion time in its quality checks.

  • Quality checks weren't passed. Surveys may include questions designed to check attention, consistency, or response quality.

  • Open-ended responses don't meet quality requirements. Incomplete or nonsensical responses may result in disqualification.

The survey provider determines these checks. Besitos does not control whether a user qualifies for an individual survey.

What can I tell a user?

Let the user know that not qualifying for a survey is a normal part of the survey experience. Being disqualified from one survey doesn't mean they won't qualify for another.

You can recommend that users:

  • Answer prescreening questions honestly and thoughtfully.

  • Keep their answers consistent.

  • Provide meaningful answers to open-ended questions.

  • Take their time when completing a survey.

  • Try another available survey if they don't qualify.

Answering questions honestly and consistently can also help survey providers better match users with surveys they may qualify for in the future.

Don't promise that a user will qualify for a particular survey.

What if a user is repeatedly disqualified?

Repeated disqualifications don't necessarily indicate a technical problem.

First, confirm that the user is:

  • Providing accurate and consistent information.

  • Taking their time when answering questions.

  • Completing surveys normally rather than rushing through them.

  • Trying different available surveys.

If the user can access surveys but is simply being disqualified, this is generally expected survey behavior.

What if there's an error during the survey?

Disqualification is different from a technical error.

If a user reports that they can't complete a survey because of an error, collect the following information:

  • Screenshot of the error

  • Date and time the error occurred

  • Survey topic

  • Survey length

  • Any additional error message or details the user provides

Contact your Besitos Account Manager with this information so the issue can be investigated with the applicable survey provider.

When should I escalate?

Consider escalating a survey issue when:

  • Surveys aren't loading.

  • A user receives an error that prevents them from completing a survey.

  • A user completes a survey, but the expected reward isn't recorded.

  • The survey experience closes unexpectedly.

  • The same technical issue affects multiple users.

A user simply being disqualified from a survey generally does not require escalation.

What should I avoid telling users?

Avoid telling users that:

  • They should qualify if they answer a certain way.

  • Besitos controls survey qualification.

  • A particular survey is guaranteed to result in a reward.

  • They should change their answers to qualify.

Instead, explain that survey providers determine qualification and that users can try other available surveys.

In summary

  • Disqualified from one survey? That's normal. Try another survey.

  • Repeatedly disqualified? Encourage the user to answer accurately, consistently, and thoughtfully.

  • Can't complete a survey because of an error? Collect the relevant details and escalate the technical issue to Besitos.
